Biker Chicks 2 AN ANTHOLOGY OF HOT MC ROMANCE
There are good and bad points to reading an anthology but primarily I find the ability to flip through a selection of authors really suits me, it is easy to break down to lunchtime chunks and one slightly off kilter experience doesn’t spoil the whole read.
I found this not only a break from the norm but also a breath of fresh air. For once I had an anthology that I read from cover to cover and didn’t find a single story that I was ready to gloss over.
I loved the concept the fact that it was the women on the bikes that took centre stage, not hanging around to be someone’s old lady, not perching themselves on the back of a bike as an adornment, nope these women rocked their rides!
More than able to face the rigours of the road, the women that were brought to life in these pages held nothing back and I liked the fact that like the countless biker books that I have read in the past, these ladies were more than a match for the guys.
I loved that almost as each story evolved the women were able not only flex their muscles so to speak but they were able to hold their own, they were independent but that didn’t mean that they lost their femininity.
With the mix of authors, some of which I was familiar with, Sapphire Knight and Rachel Barnard stood out as I had expected but I was really pleasantly surprised by the quality of works from authors that were new to me.
I loved A Road to Nowhere by Bink Cummings and will definitely be looking up some of her other works and Reinventing Holly by Geri Glenn was superb.
Overall this was a clever twist on the standard Biker Genre reads but I hope that we get more kickass biker women in the very near future, I applaud the authors of the stories and the collator of the anthology because this was one of the more enjoyable anthologies I have read.
