Vodka on the Rocks by Lani Lynn Vale

Do you want me to tell you how much I love not only this series but this author…no?

Well, I had better keep this short and sweet then because I could literally waffle on for hours on the merits of the formidable Ms Vale

Third in the series, Vodka on the Rocks is yet another belter of a book, it reads beautifully and in that I mean that it is the sort of narrative, that make it very easy to get totally absorbed. The story flows perfectly, it isn’t all sweetness and light but the edge with which Lani is able to intersect the angst and drama means that the disruption that is being played out doesn’t disturb the ease with which the storyline is able to meander. I have no idea how she is able to constantly create characters that so quickly and genuinely become intrinsic.

As you read their story they matter, what happens, what is implied, what has already occurred it all matters and there is no specific rhyme or reason to why it all seems to pull together but it is impossible to draw a line , to take some time out or to god forbid put the book down, these are books that I just have to read in one sitting and ones which I will break my rule for…I will stop reading whatever else I have on the go , if a Lani Lynn Vale books hits my screen, these are books that taunt me if I let them sit – for me they are a must read immediately.

Oh, s**t, I’ve been waffling sorry!

So what about this book, well this is Casten and Tasha’s story and it is every bit as entertaining as they are.

Casten is typically one of the guys and as long as he has them at his back he is ready to stand tall no matter what the challenge, women hold very little interest unless they are his customary one night only wham, bam, thank you, ma’am bed fellows. He is happy with that and is definitely not looking to change his status anytime soon but will Tasha be the woman to shake him up a bit?

Tasha was fabulous, I want her as a BFF, she brought a whirl of attitude to Casten’s life and I loved her for it. She shook this alpha man to his very shoes and it was a delight to read. But could she get his to let go of the reigns and give them a chance or was he just too stubborn to see a good thing pass him by?

They danced a very entertaining dance around each other but in all honesty they were only delaying the inevitable. Tasha was just whop Casten needed in his life, she made him a better person, not that he needed much improvement in the first place but she definitely gave him purpose.

Tasha on the other hand could have be custom created with Casten in mind, she was everything that he could have ever wished for all wrapped up in the most special of packages but would they survive the evil that was out to keep them apart?
