Hawk's Property by Chiah Wilder
This is so much more than just an MC book.
This is a murder mystery that is all wrapped up in leather.
Legal eagle Cara has her own practise and she enjoys the autonomy that being her own boss gives her, the fact that she can elect which cases to take on and which one’s she can walk away from. But when she takes on a new client as a favour to an old friend, little did she know that when he walked into her office, she was going to be left reeling.
When Hawk and the other senior members of the Insurgents MC take their seats, she is instantly drawn to his face, just as she had been the night she walked away from him in the bar.
The MC are legal but they are being set up and the guys are determined to see those that are behind the trouble they are experiencing held accountable but they need a lawyer and she comes highly recommended.
Hawk lives life in the MC to the full but Cara has gotten right under his skin, but they are poles apart and as her client, he knows that she is untouchable but that doesn’t stop him trying!
She knocks him back time and time again, but he is a determined bugger, he will not take no for an answer, the shenanigans between them had a huge smile on my face – not only because they were so funny but also because they were both fighting what I knew was going to be a losing battle…they were destined to be together it was just a matter of time.
Cara is sure that the recent spate of murders in the town are linked in some way to the vendetta that is going on with the MC and the local police and when she gets a visit from a relative, at her wits end trying to locate her missing sister, her suspicions are only heightened and then confirmed when they visit the morgue and Jane Doe is identified as the missing sister.
When a rival MC pay Cara a visit in a not so thinly veiled warning – Hawk is left in no doubt that she is in danger and he takes matters into his own hands, his woman is his priority , so she will be staying with him until they get to the bottom of what the heck is going on.
The murders are gruesome, the details set my teeth on edge but when you find out
But when the whole thing explodes, Hawk is out of town and Cara is out of luck!
The events around the culmination of the mystery are explosive but when the dust settles will Hawk still have his woman?
Will the bad guy/guys get their dues? Or will it all go to hell in a handcart?
The book is busy, it has a ton going on and it will certainly keep you glued to the pages.
I will read this author again, I loved the book.
