One True Pairing
by Cathy Yardley
I found myself sitting at a fairly even pace with this but couldn’t help but wonder whether it was just a really short book or an exceptionally long novella, but in the end, it didn’t really matter the book was a great read anyway.
I have sort of got my head around all the fake girlfriend stories that pop up in the genre and I have to admit, whilst I am not one to criticise, I can’t help but wonder…why bother? I mean more often than not it is far more complicated than it needs to be!
Anyway, enough of that, in this book Jake is not only an actor is a super big deal TV series, he is also the son of a Hollywood hero…illegitimate I might add but since when has that made much of a difference! But anyway, I digress, when he is mobbed at a convention ends up hiding out a local coffee shop…to escape the clutches of his female super fans.
Hailey and her sister help him out by keeping him out of harms way, and for them both that is as far as it goes, even though there was a bit of a flicker of possibility, Hailey has to knock it down because working her b**t off to keep everything ticking along and dealing with the fact that Cressida suffers from agoraphobia is more than enough for her to deal with.
But when she bumps into him again at the convention, they discover that they may just be able to help each other out…and so starts a relationship, created in the wind but destined to deliver magic!
I preferred the first book in the series, but this was a sweet read.
