Until I Fall

Be prepared to shed tears with this one and don’t be surprised if it is more than a few because from the very start my emotions were on edge and the intensity of the story never really gave them the opportunity to recover, this was packed to the rafters with content that will have you reaching for the Kleenex all the while keeping your fingers crossed.
I loved Aspen but could help but feel as if I just wanted to wrap my arms around her and give her someone to help shoulder the pain that she seemed to be weighed down by. I was silently wishing for someone really special for her and with Anderson I had my wish fulfilled but they both had an awful lot to deal with…I just didn’t know where they could or if they managed it what their world would be like in the end.
Grief is their common bond, they share the most painful aspect of life and although they are different stages of the grief process, and I think that was a strong bond between the two of them.
While I understood Aspen and why she was the way she was I will admit now that I cried for Anderson, his life was so complicated and painful that I wondered where the happiness was going to come for them both, there was so much sadness that I was itching for a happy ever after.
There was lots going on in the book, far too much to pour into this review so I will say now that you will need to pay attention, the characters are complex, they face lots of challenges and the outcome isn’t always certain. Emotionally this will take its toll, I know I felt wrung out.
I thought the author presented a beautifully written, face paced, heart-warming story that handled some sensitive situations with reverence and respect but also with passion and persistence.
A realistic read that surfed through the reality of love, life and loss.
