Unsportsmanlike Conduct by Sophia Henry
A bit of a slow burner, this took its time to get going but I think it needed to, it was a more realistic story for the time the author gave the characters in developing not only them but their connection.
I liked or maybe not the right word to say in this case, perhaps I should say I admired the fact that the author was undertake writing with such skill, a character that was suffering from Cystic Fibrosis because it is not an illness I have come across an any other novel and it is one that is absolutely prevalent in society.
Both characters were wonderfully written they booth drew something from me, they were easy to connect with. Although they didn’t initially make it easy for themselves to connect. They both put their walls up and hid behind their emotional baggage, and boy did they each have their fair share!
They didn’t take long to break down their walls but they had to work at being who they not only wanted to be but what each other was looking for, I liked that they were willing to take that chance.
The author was able to inject not only plenty of passion into the story(Phew!!!) but also fabulous tints of humour and charming banter. The story had an easy flow, one that carried me through each and every page all the way to an ending that meant I finished the story with a smile on my face.
